Shamanic Healing Community Groups

Over a series of 9 meetings, (one weekend per month), you will gather the shamanic healing tools that will allow you to grow, both as an individual and as part of a group who will continue to support each other's health and development. You will learn how to bring this work into every area of your life, transforming your relationships, work and leisure.

This is intended to be a life-changing course. By the end of the course, you will have a strong and regular spiritual practice that includes techniques for healing, meditation, personal development, problem-solving, divination, and many other practical applications which you can use on behalf of yourself, the members of the group, your wider community, the Earth and environment.

Course Content

Transformation of the Self, transformation of Consciousness, transformation of Reality. For as long as man has walked the earth he has sought to understand what is and what could be. And for tens of thousands of years (at the very least), shamanism has been the route through which man has learned about the workings of the Universe and, in partnership with spirit, has been able to work in harmony with the world he inhabits. Shamans recognise that spirit is in all things and that all is connected in the web of life; as within, so without. Shamanism is the forerunner of modern spiritual and medical systems, and now more than ever is needed to restore balance to our personal and collective worlds by connecting us as individuals directly to divine guidance. The world as we know it is in great flux; some say that the systems that we have built up are breaking down and that the world our civilisation has created is not working. Cycles, death and rebirth are a constant feature of our world, and there is nothing to fear when the old gives way to the new, but as conscious individuals we can take responsibility for raising the vibration of the collective consciousness. We can walk the path of the shaman and see the “what is”, and dream the new dream, the “what could be” through personal transformation, and through service to our communities and the Earth as a whole. This course is designed to create a strong group of shamanic practitioners who will have the tools to continue to work on their own psycho-spiritual transformation, supporting each other in the process, and to use those tools for transformation in service to their communities and the Earth, to bring spirit into all areas of life, and to dream the new dream for the Earth and Humanity so that there is something new and wonderful to move into when the old dream breaks down.

The training will include the following types of work. All of the work is practical in nature, and you will be encouraged to dive deeply into the practices outside of the formal teaching sessions as well as in them.

Building Relationships – you will deepen and strengthen the relationship and trust with your spirit allies, and at the same time, forge, and then strengthen bonds of trust with your human companions on the course who will be your support throughout the course and beyond.

The Still Centre – you will experience different meditative practices which, along with the shamanic journey itself, will form the supportive chalice that holds you in peace and in connection with spirit so that the trials and tribulations of life cease to knock you off-centre.

Shamanic Techniques – you will look at health and disease from the shamanic perspective; how we become ill and how we restore and maintain health. You will gain practical experience of the shamanic healing techniques of extraction, soul retrieval and healing with spiritual light, various dreaming practices, oracular work, and you'll experience the power of healing in community. As well as the traditional healing practices, you'll learn how to get answers to life's questions, whether at the level of the individual, community, collective or universal. Safety, Ethics and Consent – these important issues will be explored in depth. You will learn about the need to completely move the ego aside and allow spirit to guide the healing, journey or ceremony, as well as the unshakeable requirement to have explicit consent to perform any shamanic work on behalf of another and how to deal with situations where consent is difficult to obtain. You will also learn how to use the healing tools safely, so that neither the practitioner, the recipient of the shamanic work, nor anyone else involved are harmed.

Ceremony, Signs and Symbols – you'll learn how to read the messages that the Universe is send us all the time through signs, symbols and omens. You'll learn how to use this phenomenon to get answers to questions, or simply to point you in the right direction. You'll learn how to make sacred objects and imbue them with power. You'll learn the structure and function of ceremony and ritual, and how they can be used to change your life.

Shadow and Light – working with the personal aspects of the “what is” and the “what could be” you'll use shamanic techniques to stalk the Self and its shadow so that you can separate your authentic Self from the conditioning and learned patterns of behaviour, and be all that you can be.

In Service – you will learn how to work on behalf of others and the Earth for the purposes of healing, rebalancing and dream-weaving. You'll meet and work with land spirits and find out how mutually beneficial such partnerships can be in many areas of life and service to the community and to the Earth.

Course Aims

This is intended to be a life-changing course, extending well beyond the end of the formal teaching. Your training group will form its own shamanic healing community, able to fully embody shamanism in your life through personal spiritual practice, an ongoing personal psycho-spiritual development process, and in service to humanity. You will be able to act as shamanic healers for each other within the group (and outside it when called upon by your wider communities). Group members will provide ongoing support for each other, actively encouraging each other's psycho-spiritual development process, using the full and considerable range of shamanic tools to help each other when required.

Application Procedure

Please email a short letter (no more than 2 A4 pages) describing yourself and what attracts you to this work. Please mention what, if any, experience you have already gained in shamanism or any other form of energy healing or meditative practices. You can email via the Contact page. No other experience is necessary (with the exception of the ability to undertake a shamanic journey – please see Prerequisites). Paying a deposit of £60 secures your place (see Bookings page); however, you may wait to receive confirmation of a place before paying your deposit if you wish.

Cost: £150 per session (£1,350 in total)

Venue: Bagshot and Frimley, Surrey. Early meetings will be held in Bagshot, and from (hopefully) September onwards when building work is finished, will move to Frimley.

Times:

Saturdays: 10.00am to 9.00pm

Sundays: 10.00am to 5.00pm

Course Type: Non-residential. Fees include all tuition, teas and coffees, lunch on both days and evening meal on Saturdays. Lunches will be soup and bread, and evening meals will be simple stews. Please mention if you are vegetarian or vegan.
